First lighting event in the precincts of Higashi Hongwanji Temple

One of the world's largest wooden buildings, the Mikado and Amida Hall, both important cultural properties, will be solemnly illuminated at night. Ikebana artwork by Ikenobo, the head of the Iemoto Ikebana school of flower arrangement, will decorate the grounds of the temple, offering an opportunity to enjoy traditional Japanese architecture and culture in a light display.
Tour around the venue with NAKED's popular artistic lantern in hand, and become a part of the ever-changing colorful light art installations yourself. For this event, two types of lantern patterns will be available: maple and ginkgo leaves.

A premium experience to see a Noh performance by the Kanze school in an area normally closed to the public. You can enjoy the contrast between the ephemeral but elegant “Hajitomi” and the elegant Shura Noh play “Atsumori”, as well as a light performance to accompany the Noh dance, with commentary on the costumes.
