The movement of the chasen, used to make matcha tea is read by digital technology and visualized in real time as LED art spread across the entire grand staircase. The spirit of "once-in-a-lifetime encounter" is expressed through digital technology in a tea ceremony experience that can only be experienced in the modern age.
This is an interactive art experience of "Taian," a masterpiece tea ceremony room set up by Sen no Rikyu. Visitors enter a large object modeled after the national treasure "Taian" and see the function and structure of the tea ceremony room reproduced by projection mapping. Visitors can enjoy and learn about the ingenuity and history that went into the Taian's mere two tatami mats, as well as the episodes of Sen no Rikyu, through the use of projection mapping.
