A projection mapping show across the Karamon Gate, a designated Important Cultural Property, will mark the beginning of the harvest festival. Visitors will be welcomed with amazake and gathered to make a toast to celebrate the fertility of autumn.
A special "omotenashi" hospitality stall offering a modern interpretation of the feast that is said to have been served to the emperor during the historic Nijo-jo Castle Gyoko. Visitors can enjoy interactive art and food experiences in the unique venue that is Nijo-jo Castle.
The wall paintings in the Ninomaru Palace, created by the esteemed Kano school of Japanese painting, is featured in a spectacular projection mapping show. Special prepared food and beverage stalls will also be set up where visitors can sample rice from the harvested stalks.
The Honmaru-goten Palace and gardens are illuminated in this special public opening for the first time in 18 years since its restoration. Visitors are invited to witness the first ever projection mapping show in the historical structure, with complimentary sweets inspired by the last dish of the feast served to Emperor Go-Mizunoo. *Purchase of a separate ticket is required.
The Koun-tei, tinted in autumn colors and decorated with graceful sounds, offers a tranquil garden scene.
The autumn foliage in Seiryuen come to life with illuminations of autumn colors, aromatic installations, and music.
Savor the tastes of autumn in this majestic harvest banquet featuring with a large moon surrounded by glowing ears of rice and projection mapping displays that fill the castle walls.
An interactive digital artwork that promotes recycling and contributes to sustainable efforts by offering a game for participants disposing of trash. When the trash is separated and disposed of correctly, the installation will predict the participant's fortune!
Purchase food produced by NAKED's Food and Beverage team and place it on the stand to generate a fun collage with a photo of your face! *The experience is available for items purchased at other vendors as well, but the photo collages will only incorporate items from this particular stall.
