Special Illumination and Exhibition of National Treasure Hiunkaku, one of the "Big Three" pavilions of Kyoto

Tour around the venue with NAKED's popular artistic lantern in hand, and become a part of the ever-changing colorful light art installations yourself. For this event, two types of lantern patterns will be available: maple and ginkgo leaves.
Participate in this artwork by purifying your hands and mouths before entering the holy grounds, and watch as a fantastical light display on the ladle and the surface of the water.
The approach to the temple is illuminated only at night, with colorful lights decorating the path to the Miei-do Hall. In this interactive artwork, place your NAKED Distance Lantern® on a stand in front of the Miei-do, and watch as your prayers become stars that pour down onto the roof of the historic building. The shooting stars change according to the number of visitors and the color of the lanterns, delivering a new nighttime pilgrimage experience.

A special light-up event illuminating Hiunkaku, one of Kyoto's Three Famous Pavilions, which is typically closed to the public. The smoke and light installations embody the meaning behind the building's name, "the pavilion floating above the clouds."
Illumination that highlights the architectural beauty of the Karamon Gate, one of Kyoto's most iconic historic structures.
Food trucks will be available for visitors to enjoy drinks and light bites that incorporate local ingredients. Enjoy from a selection that includes hot dogs using "Kyoto Pork” brand sausages, Kyoto-style pickles, chirimen-sansho (Japanese pepper) rice balls, and more. Stalls and menus will vary depending on the day.
The Shoin, a designated National Treasure, will be illuminated for a limited number of days. Enjoy an audio guide narrating that takes you through the history of the Shoin, Japan's oldest Noh stage, and the Kokei Garden. *A separate admission ticket for the Shoin (National Treasure and Important Cultural Property Area) is required for entry.
